In rare cases, a document does not display in the Document Viewer and you see a gray screen instead. This is resolved by changing an Excel setting or updating DataSnipper, and is fixed automatically in DataSnipper v4.1 or later.
Issue summary
Some Excel options can cause issues displaying PDF files, which can make the Document Viewer look empty.
How to resolve it
This issue is caused by an Excel setting. To resolve it in your current workbook, disable and re-enable the DataSnipper add-in.
Go to File, Options, Add-ins, select COM Add-ins, and click Go.
In the add-ins list, de-select the DataSnipper add-in and click OK.
Restart Excel and repeat these steps. The Document Viewer should now work.
Update DataSnipper and .NET
If the Document Viewer still does not display documents after restarting Excel, make sure you have the latest version of DataSnipper provided by your organisation, and an up-to-date Microsoft .NET Runtime. You may need your IT team to verify or install this.
