When installing DataSnipper, a valid license key must be provided. If no key is present or the key is invalid, an error message appears to prevent deploying a non-activated installation to your users.

If you run the MSI installer directly and no license.txt file is present in the installation folder, you will see a license error. This also happens if the installer package has not been unzipped first.

To resolve this, unzip the installer package and confirm license.txt is in the same folder as the MSI, then re-run the installer.

When installing via the command line, copy the full content of the license.txt file and paste it after LICENSEKEY= in your install string. Ensure there are no extra spaces or line breaks.

If you are still seeing invalid key messages after following these steps, contact your DataSnipper representative to obtain the correct license.txt file or installer package.
