Overview
After DataSnipper has been installed, we recommend verifying that its functionality works as expected. This can be done in a few minutes.
What is Text Recognition (OCR)?
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a technology that reads documents and transforms any visible text into a format the computer can read, ensuring text is extracted from images and documents as accurately as possible.
Verify DataSnipper is installed
DataSnipper 4.1 and above
Restart Excel and open a new workbook.
Go to the DATASNIPPER ribbon, select Learn, then About to see the currently installed version.

Go to the DATASNIPPER ribbon and select About to see the currently installed version.
Verify Text Recognition (OCR) is working
Create a new workbook and import an image from your desktop.
When Text Recognition is enabled, DataSnipper will ask if you want to perform Text Recognition β click Yes.
Scroll to the last page of the document and create a snip by dragging/selecting some text. A snip will be created referencing the selected Excel cell to the location on the document.
