How to export AI Queries and Summaries as Snips from UpLink to DataSnipper

Export AI-powered queries and document summaries from UpLink directly into your DataSnipper Excel workbook as Snips.

UpLink is an AI-powered Prepared by Client (PBC) portal that lets auditors create, track, and manage PBC requests in a centralized workspace. Once documents are approved in UpLink, you can export AI query responses and document summaries directly into your DataSnipper Excel workpaper as Snips. UpLink is a separate paid module.

Prerequisites

  • UpLink Add-on Module

  • DataSnipper v6 or later

How-to video

What the video covers: approving documents in UpLink, selecting the export option from the panel, reviewing the downloaded Excel workbook with cross-references to source documents, navigating multi-Snip query responses with page number references in the Document Viewer, and reviewing document summaries in the Summaries tab.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Once all supporting documents within an engagement have been approved, click the Options (...) button in the right-hand corner of the panel within UpLink.

  2. Select "Export to DataSnipper" from the drop-down menu.

  3. All annotations, responses to AI queries, and document summaries are downloaded to your device in an Excel workbook.

  4. In the Excel workbook, click on cells to view cross-references to source documents.

  5. Queries involving multiple Snips are displayed alongside page numbers of their sources in the Document Viewer.

  6. Document summaries (for example, Lease Agreement summaries) are available in the "Summaries" tab of the workpaper.

Note: if answers have not been approved before export, they appear as Text Snips in the workbook. Once approved, the answers appear as Validation Snips.
