Video walkthrough

What the video covers

The walkthrough shows extracting a multi-page trial balance with Table Snip, summarising it to financial statement line item level with a pivot table, and matching that summary against the annual report with Document Matching, using a threshold to absorb rounding differences.

Prerequisites

  • DataSnipper v5.0 or later

  • Trial balance in tabular format

  • Financial statements

Start the procedure

1. Import the trial balance and the financial statements into DataSnipper.

2. Use Table Snip to extract the headings and tabular data from the first page of the trial balance. Click the three dots in the Snip to repeat it for the remaining pages, then edit your table as needed.

3. Once the trial balance data is extracted, create a pivot table to summarise it at the financial statement line item level.

4. Create a folder in the Document Organizer for the annual report.
