DataSnipper provides several ways to perform recalculation procedures directly within a client document. You can use the Sum Snip, Text Snip, or Find All Sums depending on the complexity of the calculation.
Recalculating totals with the Sum Snip
Use the Sum Snip to instantly recalculate totals within a client document. Highlight the specific balances you want to add together and click and drag across them to verify the overall total.
Extracting figures and recalculating formulas
For more complex calculations, use the Text Snip to extract specific values from a document, such as an interest rate and a balance, then use those figures in Excel to verify the result. For example, extract both the rate and the balance, then multiply them in a formula to recalculate the interest charge.
Find All Sums
To perform recalculation procedures across multiple totals at once, use the Find All Sums feature in the DataSnipper Automation tab. Import the document you want to check, then run the feature.
DataSnipper creates a new sheet with Text Snips from each identified total. Column B shows the sum totals and column C shows the component parts, making it easy to review mathematical accuracy by scrolling through the document snips.
