How to install the DataSnipper Excel add-in?

Install DataSnipper on a single machine using the MSI installer

Prerequisites

The installation link is provided by your DataSnipper contact. For v26 and later, the link downloads the installer (.msi) directly. For earlier versions, it downloads a .zip package containing the installer and additional files.

  • Microsoft Excel 2010 or later (32-bit or 64-bit)

  • Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime (VSTO), version 10.0.60828 or above

  • .NET 4.8

  • From v26 onward, the Financial Statement Suite (FSS) is installed separately β€” confirm you have both links before proceeding

Minimum System Requirements

  • Windows operating system

  • Microsoft Excel 2010 or later

  • 16 GB RAM (32 GB recommended for a smoother experience)

  • Modern multi-core processor (Intel Core i5 8th Gen / AMD Ryzen 3 3000 series or newer)

  • 1 GB free storage space

  • Active internet connection

  • File path length limit: 260 characters (v6 and older) or 400 characters (v6.1 and later)

Installing DataSnipper

Version 26 and later

  1. Download the installer (.msi) directly from the installation link.

  2. Run the .msi file and follow the installation wizard.

Verify Installation

  1. Open Microsoft Excel.

  2. The DATASNIPPER tab should appear in the ribbon.

  3. Click Import Documents to import a file and confirm the document viewer opens.

If the tab does not appear, see How to re-enable DataSnipper in Excel.
